MAHATMA GANDHI : x x Nirvana is the utter extinction of all that is base in us, all that is vicious in us. Nirvana is not like the black, dead peace of the grave, but the living peace, the living happiness of a soul which is conscious of itself and conscious of having found its own abode in the heart of the Eternal. x x x xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx " The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing." xxxxxxxxxxxxStephen R. There Was A Child

xCfrom: Leaves of Grass (1891) x x x xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx x THERE WAS A CHILD WENT FORTH By Walt Whitman xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx There was a child went forth each day; And the first object he looked upon, that object he became; And that object became part of him for the day, or a certain part of the day, or for many years, or stretching cycles of years. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx x The early lilacs became part of this child, And grass, and white and red morning-glories, and white and red clover, and the song of the phoebe-bird, And the Third-month lambs, and the sow's pink-faint litter, and the mare's foal, and the cow's calf, And the noisy brood of the barnyard.......... xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx x x ..................His own parents, He that father'd him, and she that had conceiv'd him in her womb, and birth'd him, They gave this child more of themselves than that; They gave him afterward every day.......

MINNY BLUE AND LINNY AND LYNxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Minny was my Russian grandmother. I was named after her in the way that immigrant families name their children. You take the first initial of Minny/Menya.xThen decide that's too old fashioned, so you change it into Linny/Lyn. Somehow a name emerges that sort of connects up.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Minny came from Roshkov, Ukraine/Russia. She was my father's mother, married my grandfather, the happy-go- lucky fellow who joined the Czars army, deserted it, came to AMERICA, left Minny with four sons under the age of ten. My father, at the age of ten, became the little man of the family when his mother Minny died at the age of thirty-two. Legend says it was of a broken heart. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx .xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx My father came to New York when he was twelve and when he saw The Statue of Liberty he thought she was his mother. For all of his ninety-five years he loved and respected America, because he felt that his mother stood guard over the Harbor. Before he died, he gave me a large white linen table cloth that Minny had embroidered in 1909. Exactly one hundred years ago. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Minny Blue. Blue, why? Well, the stitches on the white cloth were blue, her name in Russian, and the date, 1909. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Minny. Linny. Lyn. x xx xx Cherish your gifts... let the light within you shine forever. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Spiritual Warriors

SPIRITUAL WARRIORS find what they are looking for by doing. xxxxxx We possess the essence of what we are looking for within ourselves. xxxxx Your Spirit comes alive through your emotions, body, and intellect. xxxxx Meditation is part of doing. When you see your true essence, you can share it with others.
You must be the change you want to see in the world. xxxxxxxxxxx Mahatma Gandhi

Greetings #1

to establish a new Blog, one in
which I would be another me!
But technology has confounded
me once more, and when all is
said and done, this blog surprised
me by installing my very own profile
from my other Blog. Don't laugh.
You knew it all along, I didn't.
Therefore, there's nowhere to hide.
Anything I write here has to be
true in the context of TWO GHOSTS.
I didn't plan to lie, just to veer off a bit.
A dichotomy runs through me.
I am, like all of you, split into
various selves. This blog is intended
to move forward as a reflection of the
spiritual me. That's what I want it to be.
I'll try very hard to keep it so.
I've been involved for a long time as
a spiritual adviser, a Reiki healer,
a student of mysticism and Eastern
philosophy. I teach meditation and
even read cards. I'm attracted to
people who toss salt over their
shoulder. I myself have never
met a ghost I didn't like.
So what's this going to be like?
Well, I'll come up with prayers
from time to time and I favor
snippets of soulfull sayings that
I come across. I'll just add them
in. I hope that I will offend
no one. I can honestly say,
there's hardly a religion that I
haven't converted to. Everything
is a stepping stone to enlightenment.
I love Buddha, Jesus, all those
who've received arrows, been
martyred. All those who keep going
in love, in kindness.
Buddha said: We exist as an
eternal reality and "life" is
part of our place in time.
I will send you blessings.
Over and over again.
And the picture of the mannequin?
It's that dichotomy thing.
