Lives Like Ours...

YESTERDAY an irrational current ran through our land once more.  A massacre occurred in Tucson, Arizona, and lives like yours and mine came to an end instantly because a madman confused individual freedom with a call to arms.

We relive this mass horror too frequently.  Those of us who embrace love and fairness, are astonished again by the random power of evil.  Why is there surprise when sick minds are stirred to commit terrible acts?  Maybe we should pull back from hateful and angry rhetoric that goads the irrational to take murderous steps.

God bless and heal the wounded, heal our pain and weakness, and take the departed into heaven.

  2. From here, where gun control is strict and such acts rare, the pictures we see of people in Arizona walking around with six-shooters on the hip seems not only irresponsible but downright dangerous.
The catch cry that 'guns don't kill, people do' presupposes that all people are sane and will not shoot except in self defence.
But where the sane and insane legally carry six shooers on the hip, shootings will happen. Most of us suffer at least one insane moment in a lifetime in which we might shoot if the means were at hand. It takes only a moment of lost control or misunderstood intention to ruin the lives of both the shot and the shooter. Very sad, Lyn.

  3. Hi Stafford-
Interesting for me to be brought back to this post. I agree with myself. And of course, with you....We throw the word freedom around as if all know what to do with it. It is a sacred word, doesn't ever mean corruption can do as it pleases. Thanks so much for bringing this up again...
